The first Northern Lights Smoke Shop was opened in Burlington, Vermont, in the summer of 2003. The owners created the business when they noticed how hard it was to find decent smoke shops with a great selection, in order to find what you need. They also wanted to make a smoke shop that everyone was comfortable shopping in, with a friendly atmosphere, superior customer service, with well lit, easy-to-navigate shops in safe areas. The store took off and was a welcome addition to the Burlington area, right off of iconic Church Street. The second shop in Enfield, CT was then opened a few years later in the spring of 2007, all within the same guidelines of friendly service and exceptional service. Both stores were successful businesses and we knew we were filling a need for great selection and service. We continued spreading out in the Northeast, opening the next store in Portland Maine in 2009, another in Albany, NY in 2010, Groton, CT in 2013, and our most recent store in Plymouth, MA, which opened in October 2022.

We have been a little behind getting a website set up for ordering, but feel now is a great time to spread our service and selection of great glass art across the country, because we know we wouldn’t be where we are without all of the great customers who support us, as well as all of our distributors and glass artists we work with.
